WFA News & Announcements

The USFA Wisconsin Divisional meeting was held on June 27, 2009. Thank you to the club members who attended this lengthy meeting (almost 5 hours) and to those who signed their proxy forms. It was a productive meeting and we anticipate seeing some positive changes for the 2009-2010 fencing season. Congratulations to the WFA members who were elected to positions on the board: Ginny Weimer-Secretary, Lori Drahonovsky-Executive Committee and Karen Voelz-Treasurer.

Do you want to get a good workout, have fun and learn a new sport? Classes are now forming for summer sessions. Interested parties should mail in the registration form and indicate their session preference. Classes will be held on Monday and/or Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM.

If you would prefer a daytime class, please indicate that on your registration form. While we cannot guarantee that a daytime class will be offered, it is a definite possibility if there is sufficient interest. We will contact you if we meet the minimum student requirement for a daytime class.

To all fencers (WFA club members or not): If you wish for WFA to resume hosting tournaments, please share your thoughts with the USFA Wisconsin Division Chairman: Mike Garrison.

If you are interested in participating in a beginner class, please complete the Registration Form and mail it in. Classes are typically held from 7:00-8:30 on Monday evenings. Sessions last for 8 weeks and cost $96. First come, first served! Individual lessons are also available.

For detail as to when the next session will begin, please contact Karen at KarenV@wifencingacademy.com or at 262-751-5284.

Attention Club Members: Group practices are held at the Montessori School in Waukesha where there are regulation-sized fencing strips. The address is 2600 Summit Avenue. Map and Directions
