Richard Struk,Owner & Coach
Born and raised in Poland, Richard was trained from an early age in the art and sport of fencing. As a young man he attended the prestigious Polish Sports Academy and competed throughout Europe. Richard came to the US in the 1980s and currently owns and operates Oconomowoc Motor Works. Several years ago Richard returned to the competitive fencing and began teaching fencing at local schools, YMCAs, and colleges. Richard has introduced hundreds of people of all ages to fencing. Richard provides lessons and coaching in all three weapons with his favorite being saber. In 2002, Richard sectioned off a portion of the Oconomowoc Motor Works building for a fencing facility and began the Wisconsin Fencing Academy. Richard and WFA members are available for demonstrations. If your club or group (i.e. school, scouts, youth groups, parent groups) is interested in a fencing demonstation, contact Richard at the club. Richard has competed in the World Veteran Fencing Championships for many years, including the competition held in 2007 in Sydney, Australia.
